"I’m making a comeback!" Tyson Fury announces his return to boxing nearly a year after he initially stepped away from the sport.
Tyson Fury has declared that he will re-enter the boxing ring in 2026, marking a significant return almost one year after he announced his retirement. This decision follows a tough defeat in December 2024, where he lost by points to heavyweight opponent Oleksandr Usyk, who claimed three of the four major world titles in that bout. In January 2025, Fury confirmed that he was ending his professional boxing career.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Fury has pulled back from the sport; he previously stated his intention to retire after a victory over Dillian Whyte in April 2022, only to make a return later that same year. On Sunday, he took to Instagram to announce his comeback, stating: "2026 is that year. The Return of the Mac.
"I've been away for a while, but I'm back now at 37 years old and still ready to throw punches. There’s nothing quite like getting paid to punch someone in the face!"
Stay tuned for more updates on his journey back into the ring.
