Tis the season, even for quarterbacks! New England Patriots' Drake Maye is already embracing the holiday spirit in his new hometown, and his choice of a Christmas tree is a fun nod to his on-field identity.
Last weekend, Maye and his wife, Ann Michael, were spotted at Bean Family Farm in Westwood, hand-picking a Christmas tree. And not just any tree – a 10-foot beauty, perfectly suited for a player who wears the number 10 jersey.
Chris Bean, the owner of Bean Farm, shared his excitement, telling 7News, “It’s great that he’s supporting another local business in what is now his hometown.” He added that Maye and his wife had been eyeing the farm and were eager to find their perfect tree. As a welcoming gesture, Bean gifted the tree to the couple.
But here's where it gets interesting: Bean Family Farm has a rich history, dating back to 1652. Chris Bean represents the 14th generation to run the family farm.
And this is the part most people miss... The farm is currently navigating a dispute with the Westwood Land Trust regarding expansion plans. The 10-acre property faces challenges in generating sufficient income to remain financially stable.
Bean described Maye as “a really nice guy” during a conversation with The Boston Globe.
Beyond Christmas trees, Bean Family Farm offers a diverse range of products, including produce, pumpkins, beef, pork, and animal feed.
